Illumination of the Basilica of Fourvière
An exceptional illumination of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière through a video mapping creation by our teams, on the occasion of the “Region of Lights” event organized by the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.
Honoring the artisans and prominent female figures in Lyon’s history.
We wanted to celebrate the artisans behind the construction of the basilica, then explore history through the lens of prominent female figures, particularly those native to Lyon. A captivating story, a visual journey, accompanied by melodies exploring the voice in all its forms.
The show is divided into 4 majors parts :
- Act I: A monumental weaving brings forth the facades of the basilica and chapel, illustrating the dedication of Lyon’s artisans and residents who supported its construction in 1870.
- Act II: A journey back in time with historical plans and architect portraits.
- Act III : Discovering the splendor of the monument. The mosaics of Notre-Dame de Fourvière come alive on the facade, sculptures and stained glass windows come to life for a memorable visual and artistic experience.
- Act IV: Tribute to the great female figures in history originating from Lyon, from Saint Blandine to Elise Rivet and Daisy George-Martin, resistance fighters during World War II.
