The Region of Lights meets the Fourvière basilica (and the first snowflakes in Lyon). This colorful show, which is not officially part of the Fête des Lumières, is scheduled until January 2. Discover it in pictures.
The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, a historic monument in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, shines with a thousand lights. It is the first time that a sound and light show is projected on the majestic basilica, which is the first visited site of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with 2.5 million visitors per year!
The Fourvière de Lumières show invites you to dive into more than 2,000 years of our history in 5 scenes: from the discovery of the ancient remains of Lugdunum to the birth of the Festival of Lights on December 8, 1852, and from the construction of the basilica in 1872 to the present. A grandiose show to be savored without moderation.
