To honour Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage, Les Ateliers BK have created an exceptional mapping on former silos in the heart of the city, offering a narrative that retraces history, celebrates the present and invites us to marvel at the future. The show aims to transcend borders and celebrate community spirit, bringing new vitality by sublimating urban space.
Artistic approach: honoring the cultural heritage of the Pudong district
Shanghai’s impressive silos, silent witnesses to industrial activity, were transformed into a living canvas for the occasion thanks to video mapping designed by our teams. The aim of this initiative is to bring the city’s residents together around a unique visual and sensory experience, offering a fresh perspective on the architecture of the Pudong district.
As creators of the video content projected onto these imposing structures, we drew our inspiration from the richness of Chinese culture. From traditional motifs to contemporary symbols, each animation has been created to inspire a sense of belonging and collective pride.
Thanks to a skilful combination of colours, visual effects and visual narration, the show transcended mere projections to become a memorable immersive experience for all spectators.
