THE CAVE OF LIGHTS
Following the success of the Santa Claus Cave, the Volvic Cave once again called upon the Ateliers BK teams to create a brand-new immersive spectacle: the Cave of Lights. A journey that takes visitors into an unprecedented universe, where magical animals mingle with lush and multicolored vegetation.
Artistic approach: an enchanting universe for all ages.
Ateliers BK teams have crafted a narrative and visual story in which an otter gets separated from its friends due to a landslide. The otter then takes visitors on a journey to find clues to help it find its way back to the clear water basin. Throughout this journey, spectators discover an enchanting universe, composed of aquatic flora and fantastic animals. A unique way to discover or rediscover the Volvic Stone Cave, a gem of the Auvergne natural heritage.
Technical approach:
La balade souterraine, destinée à tous publics, est conçue pour immerger entièrement le spectateur dans un monde féérique. The video mapping is projected at 360 degrees onto the entire walls of the cave.

Behind the Scenes
Our ambition is to create an immersive experience suitable for all generations through a narrative experience blending scenographic installation, video, and light.
Animations inspired by prehistoric cave art.
To guide visitors, we’ve created characters linked to the history of the Volvic Cave, which formed following a lava flow from the Nugère Volcano 12,000 years ago. We drew inspiration from cave art, the prehistoric art found on rocks around the world. Thus was born the character of Volvis, who accompanies visitors throughout the immersive journey.
Anatomical research, proportions, and key poses.
To make the animated animals as realistic as possible, we conducted anatomical research on each of them. We studied their features, skeletons, and joints to faithfully reproduce their poses and movements. We also aimed to give them an enchanting appearance to enhance the immersive experience, which is why we endowed them with vibrant, sparkling colors. As the journey takes place in a cave, a naturally dark environment, these colors contrast even more beautifully with the surroundings.
THE SANTA CLAUS CAVE
To celebrate the holiday season, we created an extraordinary immersive experience for the Volvic Cave. In this natural underground world, visitors are transported into a fairy-tale universe, where the scenery blends with video projections perfectly synchronized with the cave walls.
Artistic Approach:
To delight both children and parents, we wanted to immerse spectators in a world of gifts, candies, and toys. Guided by the endearing character of Wooden-Paws, it’s a complete immersive and luminous journey that allows visitors to discover the cave as it has never been seen before. New animated visuals at every turn and unexpected surprises bring to life an enchanting universe. The Volvic Cave becomes the stage for a sensory journey while preserving the integrity of this iconic site in the natural heritage of Puy de Dome.
