The Festival of Lights is Lyon’s must-see event, and the historic buildings lining the quays of the Saône are emblematic of the city. We had the honour of adorning these buildings with videomapping, so the ambition was to bring to life a monumental work that would delight all generations.
Artistic approach: merging traditional art with digital art
Beyond the transmission of emotions, this year we wanted to go off the beaten track and be innovative by combining several artistic processes in the same creation.
For this we collaborated with the illustrator Jerome Jouvray who knew, by the movement, to give life to his character: the celestial traveler.
By combining the digital creation skills of Ateliers BK with the traditional drawing talent of the comic book author, we have developed a new aesthetic in our creations. Beyond digital graphics, we wanted to create a symbiosis with traditional arts such as drawing. The disciplines, far from being in competition, merge to create an enriched, emotionally-charged experience for the audience.
