Luminiscence, a series of immersive shows in the most beautiful cathedrals of France

Each monument of the French heritage has a unique story to tell. We aim to celebrate history while enhancing the architecture of these buildings, by creating for Luminiscence a visual narrative combining the finesse of graphic art with the technological precision of videomapping. A true dreamlike journey for the audience, rediscovering the masterpieces of heritage in a new light

PARIS – Saint Eustache Church

Following the success of Luminiscence at the Cathedral Saint-André in Bordeaux, which welcomed nearly 100,000 visitors in three months, the immersive experience of Luminiscence is now taking place in the heart of the capital city at the Saint-Eustache Church, on its 800th anniversary

An unprecedented multisensory adventure, offering a new perspective on one of Paris’ most iconic churches

Artistic Approach: A Multicolored Dreamlike Voyage

The immersive experience of Luminiscence at Saint Eustache Church invites visitors to relive the emotion that inspired its great builders during its construction in the 16th century. We wanted to start from its origins by retracing the architects’ plans onto the current structure of the church, then spanning the centuries with the iconic decorative styles of each era, while igniting the spectators’ imagination. Thus, thanks to videomapping,

Show Overview: 4 Major Acts

  • Architecture & construction : Illustrations of the initial architectural sketches are projected onto the walls of the building. This first part serves as a testament to the talent of the men and women who built the place, as well as a transcription of the philosophy behind the construction: reflections on the golden ratio, and the prominent role of light…
  • Stained glass and light shows: Beams of light transform the perception of the building into a majestic, colorful ballet that evolves from dawn to dusk. A metaphor for the passage of time and centuries.
  • Acoustic and music thourgh the ages: For the third part of the show, we aimed to honor the various musical currents that the church has experienced throughout its history, from medieval music to baroque compositions.
  • Celestial Voyage: The final part of this dreamlike journey represents the universe, its cosmogonies, and constellations. Like an invitation to reverie, to think about the place of humans in the universe.
Technical Approach

The 360-degree video projections enhance the architectural qualities and stained glass of Saint-Eustache by perfectly embracing every detail of the monument, revealing the richness of this iconic heritage site, between flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance styles. The 3D spatialized soundtrack combines with digital projections and guides the audience through the exceptional acoustics of the venue, for a multi-sensory experience.

BORDEAUX – Saint André Cathedral

A true journey through time at the heart of the Bordeaux Saint André Cathedral, made possible by an immersive spectacle combining videomapping, light ballet, narrative storytelling, and music created specifically for this event.

Artistic Approach

We wanted to bring to life a unique multi-sensory experience by virtually covering the interior walls of the Bordeaux Cathedral with high-quality video projections. The ambition: to revive the original emotion sought by the builders of the time. A true dreamlike journey, transporting spectators for 45 minutes. A voice and music specially composed for this event accompany the viewer, telling the story of the Bordeaux Cathedral, one of the jewels of French architectural heritage.

Show Overview: 3 Major Acts
  • Architecture & Construction : a dive into the world of the building’s architects, revealing the secrets of construction, from the first sketch drawings to the installation of stained glass.
  • Stained Glass & Light Shows: through the stained glass, sunlight beams continually transform the perception of the building, in a majestic luminous ballet that evolves from dawn to dusk. The walls seem to disappear to become only stained glass, as if they were made of glass.
  • Acoustic and Music Through the Ages: the show traverses the centuries of history of the venue, redecorating the walls with the iconic styles of each era
Technical Approach

The 360° video mapping mixes 2D and 3D scenes, partly based on watercolors or chalk drawings created by artists from our team. The soundtrack of the show is a spatialized 3D sound.
